In 1982 I first heard the legend of the Lobesomen.  I was having drinks with some men from Portugal.  One of them, Dino, began to speak quietly, but firmly.  Others around the table stopped chatting and nodded their heads as though what he was saying was familiar to them.  As the night went on,  I listened and realized that he was telling the truth as he knew  it. 

Dino told me of a terror that came to the door.  His grandfather fought it with a thin sharpened stick.  It turned women into nymphomaniacs and would pass affliction to another simply by touch.
